About the Job
Job Overview:
We’re looking for an experienced Estimator to join a leading restoration company and take on a pivotal role in managing project estimates and job progress across residential, commercial, and industrial lines of work. In this position, you’ll be responsible for meeting with clients, developing accurate and competitive estimates with Xactimate software, managing projects through completion, and keeping close track of budgets, invoices, and labor costs. Once our new hire training is completed, qualified candidates will move to the next level in the Estimator track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships with local clientele, primarily insurance adjusters, as well as community business owners, schools, and municipalities.
- Create precise floor plans using Xactimate Sketch and ensure adherence to all relevant building codes.
- Develop and manage project budgets, address overages as they arise, and use the standard naming conventions for estimates and related documents.
- Oversee construction schedules, coordinating with trades and management to keep projects on track; propose solutions if additional resources are needed.
- Demonstrate knowledge in source removal, decontamination, mitigation, containment, and deodorization processes.
- Conduct controlled demolition, decontamination, and structural cleaning, utilizing best practices for safety and efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance skills and industry knowledge.
- Manage vehicle safety, complete all required accident or incident reports, and maintain professional standards in all interactions.
- Contribute to the development of industry-leading practices within the organization.
- Comply with company policies and guidelines to maintain high standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to develop and maintain a client base; strong customer service experience.
- Proficiency in scope development, negotiation, and agreements with clients.
- Skilled in using Xactimate and applying industry standards for estimate formatting.
- Ability to manage emergency services as needed, including board-ups, water damage, fire/smoke damage, and vandalism response.
- Awareness of site hazards, including asbestos, lead paint, and mold, with an understanding of safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to respond promptly to client needs.
- Demonstrated fluency in English, both written and verbal, with strong MS Office skills and Xactimate expertise.
- Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted, sit for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks with manual dexterity.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting over 50 lbs, ability to bend, crouch, or stand as required.
