Estimator/Project Manager/Sales Rep - Turner Asphalt

About the Job
This position works closely with the management team to determine the costs associated with completing the scope of work in a potential tender. This position is responsible for efficiently completing quantity take-offs, preparing cost estimates, organizing bid bonds and communicating with vendors to determine the financial implications of completing a project.
Responsibilities:Estimating:
- Assist with managing bid calendar.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates.
- If necessary, refer to previous projects of a similar nature for cost comparison.
- Use Mathematical equations to determine the quantity of material needed.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the scope of work for each project.
- Communicate, receive, and review supplier and subcontractor proposals and pricing.
- Coordinates with the General Contractor on all changes in scope, questions, or clarifications regarding the work during the bidding process.
- Acts as a resource to project management during the award / start-up phase to clarify any issues regarding what was considered in the estimate including materials and methods of construction.
- Seeks input on corrective measures to continuously improve the identification and accuracy of cost figures.
- Acts as a resource for project management by providing cost information and developing cost estimates for changes in the work, during different construction phases.
- Follow-up with General Contractors post-bid.
- Other Estimating duties as required.
Sales:
- Stay current with building development in the local market and surrounding areas and recommend new business and marketing opportunities.
- Contact contractors/developers and other key potential customers in the pursuit of business; identify needs for existing and potential customers to create sales daily.
- Establish new customer relationships.
- Maintain daily log of customer contact along with business and relationship development.
- Accountable for meeting any and all expected sales goals as directed and agreed to by Management.
- Understand company products and services. Stay informed and educated as to product applications and help customers in their selections.
- Ensure branch team works together to meet customer needs and achieves desired results.
- Successfully resolve customer issues timely and professionally and provide customer assistance as needed. This will include on the jobsite, over the phone, etc..
- Maintain positive attitude towards customers and associates.
- Complete work and related paperwork properly and in a timely manner.
- Ensures safety of all employees, seeing that all safety rules are followed, any hazardous conditions are immediately shared with safety personnel.
- Other Sales duties as required.
