Position Overview: As an Electrical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our project bidding process by providing accurate and detailed cost proposals. You will collaborate with various teams to ensure the successful execution of our projects from the initial budget to final bid.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review & Evaluate: Analyze project documents, specifications, RFI's, and other bid materials to generate accurate cost proposals.
- Meet Deadlines: Ensure timely delivery of estimates while maintaining high accuracy.
- Attend Meetings: Participate in pre-bid walk-throughs and post-bid scope review meetings.
- Bid Review: Collaborate with the estimating team and management during bid wrap-ups.
- Counts & Take-off: Perform quantity take-offs using estimating software (Accubid Anywhere/LiveCount), ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Risk Recognition: Identify project risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Vendor Engagement: Obtain and qualify vendor quotes and scopes of work.
- Value Engineering: Provide cost-saving ideas and value engineering to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Verify Estimates: Validate estimates by comparing current pricing to historical bid data.
- Business Development & Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in electrical estimating within the construction industry.
- Field Experience: Previous field experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Bluebeam.
- Organizational Skills: Strong time management abilities with a capacity to handle multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders.
- Detail-Oriented: Self-motivated with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Listening Skills: Strong listening abilities to understand and respond to various perspectives.
- Problem-Solving: Proficient in identifying and resolving complex issues.
