Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Estimator to join our team. This position will focus on estimating structural steel components and will involve both computer-aided and manual take-off estimates. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in structural steel fabrication and erection processes and experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform take-offs for various structural steel components and ensure all standard and special requirements are captured.
• Review contract drawings, specifications, and other relevant documents to generate accurate estimates.
• Review vendor and sub-tier quotes for scope compliance and cost accuracy.
• Produce estimate summaries and identify buy-out items or special requirements.
• Assist in training new Estimators in Training (EITs) and provide guidance as needed.

Qualifications

• Must-Haves:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the structural steel industry.
  • Strong understanding of steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Prior experience in construction estimating and hands-on knowledge of means and methods.

• Nice-to-Haves:

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel), and other relevant software tools.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline (preferred but not required).
  • Experience reviewing contract drawings and specifications related to structural steel.

2. In-person interview with the Chief Estimator and team.
