OPERATOR
The Plant Operator is responsible for collecting and analyzing samples throughout the Ethanol Process including the areas of Milling, Cook, Fermentation, Evaporation, Distillation/Dehydration, Centrifuges/Dryers and Water Treatment. The Plant Operator will report to the Board Operator and the Lead Operator any analyses that are not in operating specification so changes to the process can be made. The Plant Operator will be trained to handle and mix various chemicals that are added to the process.
The Plant Operator will also learn the process flows throughout the plant and will assist other team member in trouble shooting of the plant process. The Plant Operator will also be trained to operate the plant from the Distributive Control System. The Plant Operator will be part of a four team member crew.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Collecting and analyze samples throughout the ethanol process
- Learn the correct handling procedures for chemicals used in process
- Learn how to control plant operations from Distributive Control System (DCS)
- Light duty maintenance
- Inventory control
- Follow Standard Operating Procedure for chemical additions throughout plant
- Cleaning of the plant
- Safety
This position is a rotating shift schedule, 2 weeks days/2 weeks nights. The Plant Operator will receive one-on-one training for the first six weeks on day shift and will then move to a crew to continue training.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Previous related plant work experience preferred
- Ability to work successfully in a team environment
- Ability to follow direction and Standard Operating Procedures in a safe manner
- Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend basic English
- Be able to work independently and as a team
- Not afraid of heights
- Able to work outside in varying conditions
- Work in moderate noise level
- Safety is a priority
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months experience in similar position within an ethanol plant
