About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced ETL Quality Assurance Specialist to join our client’s team in Houston, TX. This is a Day 1 onsite role, so only local candidates will be considered. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in ETL testing and data validation, with extensive experience working with data integration processes and data quality assurance in large-scale environments.
This Contract-to-Hire (C2H) role offers an excellent opportunity for long-term growth with a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- ETL Testing: Conduct thorough testing of ETL processes to ensure data is correctly extracted, transformed, and loaded into the target systems.
- Test Case Design: Develop, maintain, and execute detailed test cases to verify data integrity, data migration, and the accuracy of ETL jobs.
- Data Validation: Validate data quality and consistency across multiple data sources and databases. Ensure that data transformation and processing logic are working as expected.
- Automation: If applicable, create and maintain automated test scripts for ETL processes using tools like Selenium, QTP, or custom automation frameworks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand data requirements, source-to-target mappings, and expected data outputs.
- Defect Reporting: Log and track defects in defect management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and collaborate with the development team to ensure quick resolution.
- Data Analysis: Use SQL to query databases and validate source data against the data in the target system, ensuring integrity and consistency.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test results for traceability and compliance.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, accurate, and timely delivery of data in the ETL pipeline.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in ETL testing, with a proven track record of working on large-scale data integration projects.
- Strong experience with ETL testing tools and methodologies.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying, validating, and troubleshooting data within databases.
- Experience with data validation, data migration, and ensuring data integrity across various platforms.
- Familiarity with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, AWS Glue, Ab Initio) and understanding of how ETL processes work.
- Strong data analysis skills to interpret data from multiple sources and systems.
- Manual testing experience is required; automation experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
- Experience working with JIRA, HP ALM, or other defect management tools for logging and tracking issues.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in Automation Testing for ETL processes using tools like Selenium, QTP, or JMeter.
- Familiarity with cloud-based ETL solutions such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and architecture.
