About the Job
Carmen's Coffee Company in Long Beach, CA needs a part-time Event Barista! With a base pay of $16 per hour plus an additional $25 per hour in tips for a total of $41 per hour and mileage reimbursement, this role comes with more perks than just the perfect cup of joe!

QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to sell our items without being forceful and pushy
- Strong driving skills and willingness to drive a commercial vehicle (coffee truck)
- A love for coffee
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work Holidays and all shifts according to your availability provided at the time of hire
- Must be able to comfortably carry 25lbs
- Comfortable using gas cans to fill gas generators, and truck gas tank
Baking experience is preferred!
A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN EVENT BARISTA
As a part-time Event Barista, you'll set up the truck, drive it to and from events, and prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages. You'll also warm up food for customers and help process payments, all while keeping the energy high and the coffee flowing.
As a part-time Catering Barista, your typical shift starts with preparing the coffee truck for transport. This involves securing items to prevent breakage during transit, filling the generator and truck with gas using gas cans, and reviewing the menu items and descriptions for that specific event.
Once you arrive at the event, you'll set up the truck for service, ensuring your appearance is professional and wearing Carmen's branded shirts and aprons. You'll greet guests warmly, maintaining a courteous, service-oriented attitude with everyone-customers, vendors, and fellow team members alike. Staying attentive to the ordering area and all guest touchpoints is key to ensuring a positive experience for everyone. You'll serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, assist with warming up food, process payments, and keep all workstations clean and stocked throughout the event.
After the event, you'll take inventory of the truck's stock, possibly restock items, and complete closing duties. These include light dishwashing, cleaning the espresso machine, counting cash drawers, cleaning floor mats, and dumping/filling the truck's water tanks.

Carmen's Gypsy Coffee Bar is Long Beach's original espresso truck offering an on-location, full-service espresso and tea bar, vegan and gluten-free pastries, Spanish pressed paninis, breakfast quiche, house nitro cold brew, and much more! Carmen is a namesake and was the owner, Elisa Bertone's mother, who is from a very large family of 11 brothers and sisters. All of the siblings were Flamenco entertainers on stage from a very young age. Elisa's family is from the caves of Andalusia Spain and her uncle, Rene Heredia, is still very prominent in the genre. Elisa's first cousin, Andreana, still has dance troupes all over Colorado to this day!
