Position Function/Nature of Work:
Under the direct supervision of the Event Center Manager performs duties necessary to support the Event Center. This position requires you to set up and break down tables and chairs, you will also be setting up and taking down the stage and dance floor. This job also requires you to preform some janitorial duties for all Banquet Hall functions in a timely manner with specific directives and guest expectations. Duties are primarily preformed with-in the banquet hall and indoor environment or setting. Possible exposure to dust, mold, and allergens; noise; inclement weather and electrical hazards. Knowledge of minor maintenance repair work is a plus.
Essential Duties:
Performs duties necessary to support the Recreation Department which includes but not limited to answering telephones, taking and recording registrations, customer service. Application processing, taking and processing payments, creating payment and programming spreadsheets and filing.
Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work environment as well as additional duties assigned.
Physical Demands include, but are not limited to: Standing, Sitting, Walking, Lifting, Carrying, Pushing/Pulling, Reaching, Handling, Fine Dexterity, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Bending, Stooping, Twisting, Climbing, Balancing, Vision, Hearing Talking and Foot Controls.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience normally obtained through the completion of a curriculum resulting in either a Highschool diploma or GED is preferred, but not required.
- First Aid and CPR Certification are required.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of recreation and group activities.
- Must possess excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with City employees, Parents, Businesses, and the Public is essential.
- Ability to create, implement and oversee activities and events.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must be willing to learn and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Must be able to pass the State required background check for persons working with children.
- Files records and reports and performs other related clerical work as assigned.
- Types and/or reproduces report, forms, correspondence, and other materials.
- Proofreads various documents for accuracy and neatness.
- Answers telephone, takes messages and directs incoming calls appropriately.
- Greets and refers visitors.
- Operates computer, calculator, copier, fax machine, scanner and/or other office equipment.
- Perform other non-essential duties as required.
- Must be able to communicate with Co-Workers, Subordinates, Supervisor and Customers.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to a minimum of 20lbs, such as moving office supplies, equipment; event venue set up and take down.
Other Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must possess a valid State of Florida drivers' license.
- Must possess an honorable military discharge if applicant has been service connected.
- Must be a United States citizen or naturalized citizen.
- Must pass a physical examination and drug urinalysis test.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony.
- Must endure a personal, professional and moral background investigation to determine honesty ,maturity and dependability.
- Must be fluent in the English language; ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
