Legends Event Center is a multipurpose indoor family sports and entertainment facility located in Bryan, TX. Legends Event Center will draw events from throughout Texas expanding into the southwest region. This facility will encompass numerous amenities including 8 Basketball courts that convert to 16 volleyball courts, meeting & hospitality areas, a full arcade, and e-gaming center. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Event Coordinator is a key position responsible for assisting the Director of Sports and the Events Manager in creating and executing new tournaments, special events and meetings. The Event Coordinator is responsible for relationships with clients, as well as, contacts within the market in order to meet or exceed revenue goals. In addition, you will execute all needs of the event and sports operation team, professionally represent the LEC at all events and community functions and act as a team player with all departments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Create, plan, and execute and evaluate new and existing tournaments, events and programming
- Qualify sales opportunities through inquiries and prospecting to maximize revenue potential
- Coordinate the organization and communication for the facility's sports tournaments, special events and meetings
- Manage ongoing facility schedule for tournaments and special events
- Assist with local sports programming, including sports camps and clinics
- Assist with supervision, training, and management of event and sports operations team members
- Track and report weekly tournaments, events, programs and attendance
- Successfully manage and execute events in a fast-paced environment
- Achieve sales goals by keeping abreast of budgeted revenue goals and assist in developing plans and actions to generate business
- Provide support to the managers, as well as, the administrative team with phone support, creating correspondences, and providing backup support
- Create and maintain reports, as needed, to assist with the sales effort
- All additional duties assigned by the Director of Sports
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 1 year of experience in an event or sports-related field
- Degree in sports management preferred
- Must have experience in facility operations and event/tournament management
- Experience coaching/teaching both youth and adult sports
- Excellent customer service skills and experience dealing with event personnel
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and creative publishing tools relevant to the application
- Must have excellent interpersonal, problem solving and negotiating skills
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Will be required to operate a computer
- Facility has intermittent noise
- Must be able to work in an environment with varying temperatures
