Event Manager (Internal Community Experience)
Location: Onsite in Washington DC; travel required 2-3x/year
Duration: 12 months, potential to extend
Pay: up to $38/hr, DOE
Planet Interactive is looking for an Event Manager to join our well known Fortune 500 client on a 6 month contract. This role will be 40 hours per week, will be onsite in Washington DC, and may require travel 2 to 3 times a year.
This role will report to the Manager, CX and be a part of and supporting the Employee Experience team in cultivating connections between employees across a multi-building campus, including various events and programs that support our work in building internal community.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, a team player and have excellent communication skills; they should have strong time management skills, attention to detail, a learning mindset, and an ability to multi-task across concurrent priority projects. This person must be able to work across various business areas and support general administrative tasks required (ie. purchase orders, vendor management, statement of work creation). This person should also be comfortable assessing and understanding the work of supporting the site, and use strong judgment for problem-solving.

Responsibilities:
- Works as part of Employee Experience team to develop & execute a calendar of site wide events, including meet ups, all-hands, and other company-wide programs across multiple buildings
- Creates communications, marketing materials, digital assets etc. for various events & programs
- Supports planning, logistics, and execution for local events in line with approved budget and in coordination with CX team
- Supports coordination & execution of Local Office Welcome and new hire experience
- Collects feedback from attendees, hosts event debriefs, and compiles data on events to inform future planning efforts
- Supports event committees and programming, leveraging employees who wish to participate in planning efforts for community building events, by assigning tasks and ensuring completion
- Maintains and updates the internal sites to ensure site resources are up to date and relevant
- Manages purchase orders, vendor on-boarding, and statement of work creation (as well as other finance processes) in partnership with Finance
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in event planning for organizations
- Comfortable managing multiple projects at the same time
- Experience managing and working within specified budgets
- Experience using and building out data to solve problems
- Experience with venues, activities, and events resources
- Experience working in a tech industry or startup environment
- Knowledge of engineering and tech teams, with ability to tailor community-building initiatives to their needs and interests
- Experience with budget management and financial planning
- Proven experience building cross-functional relationships between various support partners
- Comfortable working through ambiguity and uncertainty
- Proven experience collaborating as part of a cross-regional team
- Experience in using Microsoft Office Programs, Keynote, Outlook, Google Suite
