About URBAN TXT: Teens Exploring Technology: 

URBAN TXT is a non-profit organization that empowers young black and brown boys to become technology entrepreneurs through coding, leadership, and community impact. Our Hustle N' Code Hackathon is a vibrant, fast-paced event where youth create tech solutions for their communities. 

Position Overview: 

We are seeking a Volunteer Event Photographer to document the Hustle N' Code Hackathon, capturing the energy, creativity, and community spirit of this transformative event. This is an excellent opportunity for a photographer looking to build their portfolio while making a positive impact. The ideal candidate will have a passion for storytelling through photography, a keen eye for detail, and a desire to contribute to a meaningful cause. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Capture dynamic moments of participants coding, collaborating, and presenting their projects. 

• Photograph candid and posed shots of participants, mentors, and volunteers. 

• Provide images that reflect the core values of the event: hustle, creativity, leadership, and community. 

• Deliver edited photos within one week of the event. 

Requirements: 

• Some experience with event photography (portfolio required). 

• Proficiency with professional camera equipment and editing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop). 

• Strong ability to capture candid, action, and group shots in a fast-paced environment. 

• Understanding of lighting, composition, and storytelling through images. 

• Ability to deliver high-quality edited images within a short turnaround time. 

• Passion for reflecting the spirit of community, leadership, and social impact through photography. 

• Willingness to contribute time and skills to a community-focused event. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Passion for photography, storytelling, and social impact. 

• Experience photographing tech or community events is a plus, but not required. 

• An openness to creative risk-taking and experimentation with different photography styles.
