Event Sous Chef - part-time - Meadowbrook Inn

Job Summary:

The Event Sous Chef position is responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in preparing meals for group events. This is a service oriented position and requires good interpersonal communication skills and friendly professionalism while attending to guest requests.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Prepare all menu food items according to standard recipes and as specified to ensure consistency of product.
• Prep items as directed. 
• Check and control the proper storage, cutting, portion control and quality of products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for work areas to comply with Health Department regulations and hotel standards.
• Thoroughly clean work area at end of shift.
• Display awareness and compliance with hotel's security, safety, emergency and energy procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned. The company reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Restaurant or event experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

• Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
• Able to climb ladders.
• Able to climb stairs.
• Able to walk hallways and perimeter of property.
• Able to twist, bend, reach and pull.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
