2024 Event Staff - Orlando

Memoir Agency aims to bring meaning to every place and moment. To do that, we are looking for tenacious, collaborative, and passionate people to join the staff for our 2024-25 season. This year's epic events include our Halloween productions, Happy Frights & Haunting Nights (https://www.halloweeninthegarden.com/), as well as our flagship event Dazzling Nights (https://www.dazzlingorlando.com/). EVENT HOST POSITIONS: these positions will be customer service/guest service oriented

Position: Event Host

Position Overview:  

• Event Hosts include both Arrivals Hosts and Entry Hosts. These positions will be customer service and guest service oriented. 
• Event Hosts will provide excellent guest service to ensure Memoir quality standards are met.
• Event Hosts will greet our guests as they enter the event, and be our last goodbye as guests leave.
• Event Hosts will ensure the accurate and efficient scanning of guest tickets into our event
• Event Hosts will execute basic troubleshooting of ticket scanning devices 
• Event Hosts will greet our guests as they enter the event.
• Event Hosts will help promote event safety by monitoring attendees for signs of disruptive behavior, like excessive intoxication, potential environmental hazards (tripping) and escalating issues to management as necessary.
• Event Hosts will answer a variety of guest questions, and must be knowledgeable about many parts of the event, providing the most accurate and up to date information possible
• Event Hosts will be responsible for the daily opening and closing procedures relevant to their area

Requirements:

• Ability to to complete physically demanding tasks, such as standing and/or walking for long periods of time.
• Ability to work outside in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold temperatures)
• Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs. **Reasonable accommodations may be made to allow differently-abled individuals to perform the essential functions of the job.**
• Must be prompt, and be able to work all shifts as assigned.
• Reliable forms of communication & transportation
• Staff provide their own attire, with approval (black pants & shirts are recommended. Closed toes shoes are required at all times)
• Staff Must be willing and able to step into other roles on the event site after an appropriate amount of training. These other areas include, but are not limited to, ticket scanning, parking, and other general event staffing roles. 

The Ideal Candidate:

• Has customer service experience, excellent problem solving skills, and an acute attention to detail
• Has prior experience with the Universe Box Office app or other mobile ticketing platforms
• Enjoys interacting with guests and also having a role behind the scenes
• Is reliable 
• Has an outwardly presentable demeanor & attitude

Dates and Times: 

• Happy Frights/Haunting Nights September 27th-October 31st 4PM-11PM
• Dazzling Nights November 29th-January 5th 4PM-11PM

Pay Details: Starting at $17/hr. Event staff can expect to work about 25 hours each week of the event. Payments will be made weekly. 

ACTIVATION HOST POSITIONS: these positions will be inside throughout the event path and are more focused on production, lighting, tech aspects of event

Position: Activation Host

Position Overview:  

• Activation Hosts include both Activation Hosts and General Event Staff. These positions are focused on production, lighting, audio and other technical aspects of the event. 
• Activation Hosts will provide excellent guest service to ensure Memoir quality standards are met.
• Activation Hosts will supervise interactive areas by maintaining crowd control, line management, traffic flow and overall safety of the guests. 
• Activation hosts may be utilized as a "floater" position providing hospitality and general event assistance when we are fully staffed on any given night or serving as a fill-in for other event staff positions when there is a specific role needed to be filled.
• Activation Hosts will promptly report technical issues to their supervisor or the On-Site Tech
• Activation Hosts will ensure event safety by monitoring attendees for signs of disruptive behavior, rough play, misuse of installations, excessive intoxication of guests, potential environmental hazards (like tripping) and escalating any issues to management, as necessary.
• Activation Hosts will answer a variety of guest questions, and must be knowledgeable about many parts of the event, providing the most accurate and up to date information possible
