Job Description
HII Mission Technologies is seeking an Events Manager and Strategist to lead the planning and execution of successful events that drive brand awareness and strategic engagements for the US. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center.
Your expertise in event strategy, project management, and planning will be pivotal in creating memorable experiences that align with Army branding and objectives. Collaborating closely with partners and cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for every event planning stage, from ideation and budgeting to logistics and post-event analysis. Your ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and manage multiple projects simultaneously will ensure events are executed flawlessly and deliver measurable results.
This is a hybrid remote/onsite position located in Warren, Michigan.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive event plans that align with business objectives and drive attendance and engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and partners to ensure seamless execution of events, including group planning, some venue selection, vendor management, and logistics.
- Create compelling event messaging and content that resonates with target audiences and drives interest and attendance working closely with the public affairs office.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, partners, and vendors.
- Plan events from start to finish, including inquiry, proposal, booking, implementation, and completion.
- Oversee external and in-house events and meetings, and develop, implement, and review event practices and procedures.
- Assist with developing, strategies, guidelines, and procedures relating to event management.
- Prepare written assessments after the event to analyze event performance metrics and provide recommendations for future improvements and optimizations.
- Manage the event budget and timelines, allocating funds to various aspects of the event ensuring all deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Take the helm in ensuring operational and logistical excellence, overseeing everything from booth setup to takedown to ensure a seamless execution.
- Engage with attendees to build relationships and tell the GVSC story.
Minimum Qualifications
- 6 years experience with projects of similar scope, type, and complexity and a Bachelor's in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Master's in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
- Project management and knowledge of Key Performance Indicators and marketing techniques.
- Computer savvy and proficient with MS Office.
- Outstanding communication and negotiation ability.
- Must have exceptional organizational skills and be comfortable managing multiple priorities..
- A team player with leadership skills and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a secret level security clearance.
Physical Requirements
- May be required to visit location in an industrial or military environment.
- Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above feet/floor level.
- Will be required to be on your feet for long periods of time during events.
