- Manages budget and engages in strategic planning to ensure all goals are met.
- Hires and directs the activities of staff.
- Resolves personnel issues as they arise.
- Engages in budget-planning, grant oversight, and policy development.
- Implements new programs and projects and monitors ongoing activities of department or center.
- Reviews department policies and processes and implements improvements as needed.
- Represents department or center to internal and external constituents.

Key Duties Summary: - Events/Program Management : Organize, execute, and oversee events, logistics, resources, and operations related to UH Energy events/programs, ensuring compliance with university standards.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Increase and maintain partnerships with industry organizations, internal departments, and colleges to create opportunities for students.
- Assessment & Evaluation : Regularly assess and evaluate events, programs and projects, providing recommendations for department policies and processes.
- Content Development : Oversees the creation and management of content for the Division of Energy & Innovation's website, event materials, newsletters, and social media platforms.
- Marketing & Communications : Work closely with marketing and communications teams to strategize and increase engagement across various platforms.
- Student Organization Oversight : Directs the programs and activities of The Energy Coalition, UH’s largest student organization, and other student-focused initiatives.
- Leadership Oversight : Manage and mentor the Program Manager 2, providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure the effective execution of their responsibilities and the overall success of events/programs.
Qualifications Bachelors and 5 years' experience Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience. Certification/Licensing: None.
