$3,000 Sign on Bonus
* Typical Hourly Wage is: $35 - $45/HR. *
Layton Services is a commercial, industrial and residential excavation contractor that has been family-owned and operated in Central Ohio for 30 years. Our services primarily include earthwork, site development (mass excavation, building pads, sub-grade prep) and underground utilities (water main, fire line, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and detention systems.) Our office is in Newark, Ohio with a majority of our work in Columbus, Ohio, Licking County and surrounding area.
Summary of Role: Supervises and coordinates daily job site operations including: safety, production, job costs, labor, some operating and all other duties as assigned. This person must be self-motivated, committed to safety, possess excellent leadership skills and able to immediately lead an excavation crew to success.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage construction projects from start to finish.
- Call-in inspections through the correct departments for your job location.
- Read/ understand civil plans and cut sheets.
- Coordinate job-site materials and trucking as needed.
- Provide quality leadership and equal opportunities for crew members to learn + further develop skills.
- Enforce job-site safety.
- Consult w/ Superintendents regarding crew members when necessary.
- Report all OSHA/ Company Violations to Superintendents immediately.
- Stay ahead of schedules + budgets provided.
- Always maintain a positive + productive job site.
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma/ or equivalent.
- 3+ years of industry related work experience (construction/ sitework).
- Trenching + Excavating Certification (can obtain once hired).
- 30 Hour OSHA Certification (can obtain once hired).
- Basic computer knowledge (including email + construction software to manage employee time, job costs + resources).
- HeavyJob Construction Software experience preferred.
- A positive "Teamwork" mindset + the willingness to learn.
