Executive Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent - Newaygo County Regional Educational Services Agency

About the Job
General Function
The Executive Administrative Assistant shall carry out assigned management and clerical activities which will ensure the effective operations of the Office of the Superintendent and Board of Education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in secretarial science or three years of relevant clerical experience along with appropriate business education training and skills.
- Clerical/business experience.
- Possess strong verbal and organizational skills, time management skills, and public relations/communication skills.
- Capable of handling detailed work assignments.
- Shall attend workshops/seminars periodically to upgrade skills and enhance professional growth.
- Able to analytically reason and make decisions.
- Able to work under pressure and multi-task with time-sensitive constraints.
- Able to work as a member of a team and contribute to the agency vision and goals.
- Positive leadership skills.
- Must complete and pass required criminal history check.
Essential Duties
Essential duties shall include, but are not limited to:
- Maintain an accurate filing and data collection system for the storage and reporting of required regulatory data.
- Perform backup duties for human resources office functions
- Support Office of Instructional Services
- Perform all necessary functions to support the NC RESA Superintendent.
- Perform all necessary functions to ensure accurate and timely reporting of required MDE data (SID), contracts, home school reports, schools of choice, etc.
- Coordinate annual emergency drills.
- Monitor home school registrations.
- Serve as support/recording secretary to the Newaygo County School Boards Association, superintendents and NC RESA administrative meetings.
- Act as a resource, if needed, to employees, students and the general public visiting the NC RESA.
- Possess knowledge of NC RESA's organization, mission and philosophy.
- Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Superintendent.
Relationships and Other Duties
The Executive Administrative Assistant shall be directly accountable to the Superintendent and shall demonstrate commitment to the mission of the Newaygo County RESA through:
- adherence to and enforcement of agency policies and administrative regulations,
- performance resulting in quality outcomes,
- performance resulting in internal and external consumer satisfaction,
- continuous personal and professional improvement and development,
- positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues and consumers,
- continuously improving performance through internal and external evaluation,
- exhibiting the mental/physical ability and stamina to meet essential duties of the position, and
- supporting the agency and department in the Continuous Improvement Plan.
