The Executive Director, Finance will play a key role in US Commercial FP&A Functions for the brands Shiseido and Cle de Peau. The Executive Director is responsible for the management of strategic financial planning, decision support, and oversees all Budgeting/Forecasting functions of the division. This role also supports the EVP, Finance for Americas Commercial to develop and implement the financial strategy for the US Commercial Shiseido and Cle de Peau Finance team. This role will report directly to the EVP, Finance and will have a team of Managers and Analysts reporting into it.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manages direct reports to coordinate and implement the financial planning process that requires extensive interaction with a variety of departments.
- Take over full P&L responsibility for both the brand Shiseido and Cle de Peau P&L’s.
- Acts as the day-to-day liaison between Finance and all functional areas by reviewing and validating monthly P&L’s and Financial Plans.
- Identifies opportunities to improve efficiency/productivity across the Wholesale and digital channels to drive sustainable growth.
- Communicates critical issues to the EVP, Finance and brand Shiseido & Cle de Peau US Commercial Leadership Team.
- Acts as a key role in ad hoc projects in which FP&A is an internal resource for ranging from multi-departmental long-term partnerships to short term, one-off assignments.
- Participates in meetings with the Brand holder team in Tokyo to review monthly results as well as budgets/forecasts (brand Shiseido).
- Participates in the creation and review of monthly management reports for distribution to brand team and executives.
- Partners with other Shiseido Americas Finance leaders on monthly results and forecasting update.
- Generates new ideas and creative solutions to increase the efficiency and productivity within the Company.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Requires Finance/Accounting background.
- Excellent analytical and modeling skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A /accounting.
- MBA preferred but not required.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills are a must.
- Ability to interact with numerous functions areas and leaders.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting concepts.
- Experience in retail finance strongly preferred whether at a vertical specialty retailer or at an investment bank of accounting firm.
- Demonstrated analytical and detail-oriented skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior executives.
- Must be motivated, goal oriented self-starter.
- Comfortable with fast paced and demanding environment.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks and juggle several urgent demands at any given point.
