Summary:
This role within the Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain (CMSC) organization is critical for establishing and integrating CMSC strategies while driving organizational effectiveness. We seek a visionary Executive Director to lead this impactful role, that will ensure strategic alignment, cross-functional execution, and operational excellence throughout CMSC. Working closely with the SVP of CMSC and senior leadership, you will play a key role in achieving our business objectives and establishing and supporting teams that promotes agility and growth.
The ideal candidate will be a strategic thought leader, an influential cross-functional orchestrator, and an operations expert capable of driving business transformation across complex and dynamic environments.

Compensation:
The compensation package will be competitive and includes comprehensive benefits and an equity component.
Salary Range: $283,000 – $313,000

Business Capabilities:
- Lead the business capabilities function for CMSC, driving operational excellence and managing business capabilities across all departments.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by promoting data-driven decision-making, optimizing workflows, and encouraging innovative solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and performance.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify, prioritize, and manage initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency, streamlining processes, and reducing complexity within CMSC.
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of data infrastructure and analytical tools to support CMSC, ensuring efficient data integration, automation, and real-time insights across Manufacturing, MSAT, Supply Chain and Quality Control.
- Establish and maintain key business operations cadences for CMSC, including resource planning, budgeting, goal setting, performance and talent management.
- Establish and lead business capability steering teams that provide guidance and enable effective decision-making and prioritization.
Product Commercialization:
- Develop, implement, and oversee a cross-functional CMSC Product Team infrastructure that aligns end-to-end product strategies with Company’s business objectives.
- Support CMSC Commercial Product Team Leaders accountable for post-approval product lifecycle management, while also directly leading Product Teams as needed.
- Provide mentorship to Team Leaders, focusing on stakeholder management, strategy development, and cross-functional collaboration to refine product team plans and decisions.
- Establish cohesive strategies across product teams, fostering collaboration among Manufacturing, MSAT, Supply Chain, Process Development, Regulatory, and Quality functions.
- Leverage and define as needed performance metrics, strategic planning frameworks, and governance processes to monitor and ensure the delivery of key initiatives and alignment with business goals.
Strategic Advisor:
- Serve as a thought partner and trusted advisor to the SVP of CMSC, offering high-level strategic insights and actionable recommendations that align with the organization’s vision and long-term goals.
- Drive the development of strategic materials such as board presentations, long-range plans, and executive communications, ensuring clarity, coherence, and alignment with corporate objectives.
- Lead strategic planning initiatives, developing frameworks and conducting scenario analyses that guide executive decision-making and steer organizational direction.
- Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key external partners, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with CMSC’s goals, while facilitating collaborative, mutually beneficial engagements.
- Design and lead strategic CMSC meetings, including agenda development, logistics coordination, and session facilitation to foster alignment, innovation, and organizational cohesion across leadership teams.
- Support organizational change management, guiding leadership through transformations such as process improvements, technology adoption, and scaling efforts to ensure successful implementation and team buy-in.
Requirements:
- BA/BS required with MBA or relevant advanced degree highly desired.
- A minimum of 16 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with significant expertise in CMC, commercialization product strategy, and business operations.
- Visionary leader with a proven track record of leading global CMC Product Teams, guiding them through all phases of product lifecycle management.
- Extensive experience in strategy development, business operations, and managing large-scale programs within the biotech or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proven ability to drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency through innovative solutions.
- Expertise in strategic planning, business operations, and optimizing cross-functional processes to enhance organizational performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making, prioritization, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex scientific concepts and convey them effectively to diverse audiences, including executives and key stakeholders.
- Skilled negotiator with proven experience in building and managing relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to facilitate strategic initiatives and align diverse teams toward common goals while managing multiple priorities and delivering results.
