Responsibilities:The position serves as a key member of the Enterprise Logistics, Operational Excellence & Business Continuity. Reporting directly to the SVP of Logistics, Operational Excellence & Business Continuity, will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and optimize costs while providing superior customer service.
This role will have oversight of all NYBCe transportation activities including but not limited to inbound/outbound transportation management, third party logistics (3PL) management, fleet planning & optimization, driver management inclusive of education & training programs, DOT Compliance and driver safety program. This involves deploying and servicing resources in a manner that minimizes idle time, reduces operational costs, and enhances overall performance.
The above requires the ability to partner with internal customers to identify and drive high-impact continuous improvement efforts in support of organizational priorities and strategies.
- Optimize the movement of goods, including equipment, materials, supplies, and the distribution of finished products, to ensure logistics operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- Manage vendor relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring service quality with logistics service providers, fleet suppliers, and other partners.
- Forecast and plan for future logistics needs, including fleet expansion, technology integration, and organizational investment, to meet customer service expectations while optimizing costs.
- Make strategic outsourcing decisions based on cost-benefit analyses to optimize logistics and fleet functions.
- Oversee labor relations and union contract negotiations related to logistics operations, ensuring compliance and fostering positive relationships.
- Effectively coach and partner with functional leaders, and leadership team to develop strategic plans and execute performance improvement activities.
- Influence and link logistics improvement objectives to the highest priorities that align with our organization’s long-term strategy.
- Responsible for DOT compliance program development & oversight.
- Implementing new technologies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Enhancing 3PL provider relationships, including contracts and negotiating rates.
- Innovating new ways to support company goals and growth strategies through logistics optimization.
- Provide guidance to frame appropriate business challenges, identifying key business opportunities using data and industry knowledge and trends.
- Able to engage stakeholders and manage site-level initiatives to drive results and realize intended business benefit.
- Manage teams to mitigate risk, allocate resources, and drive on-time completion of initiatives.
- Logistics software proficiency, utilize various software tools and applications that can help plan, monitor, and optimize logistics operations.
- Budgeting and data analysis skills. Ability to prepare and manage budgets, as well as analyze metrics and data to make informed decisions and improve efficiencies.
- Communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with front line teams, executive leaders, suppliers, partners, and customers.
- Ability to negotiate, persuade and resolve conflicts.
- Lead, motivate and support teams, as well as delegate tasks and responsibilities. Set goals, monitor performance, and provide feedback.
- Problem-solving skills. Ability to identify and solve problems, as well as adapt to changes and challenges in the logistics environment. Must be able to think creatively and strategically.
- Lead and/or partner with business leads on special projects as assigned by Senior Executive leadership.
- Attends conferences, seminars, as required.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
Experience:
- 12+ years of Logistic experience required
- 5 years of experience in management/leadership role
- Experience analyzing complex end-to-end Logistics operations and driving process improvement for a complete system in an integrated approach.
- Experience with facilitating and leading teams
- Experience in teaching lean tools, methods, and concepts
Licenses / Certifications:
- Valid Driver's License
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
- Knowledge of a variety of software applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
Proficiency in using IT applications to organize, analyze, & present information (e.g., MS-Excel, PowerPoint, MS-Teams, Power BI) - Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
Travel:
- 25% of the time with some overnight stays

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed annual salary is $195,000.00p/yr. to $210,000.00p/yr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant’s skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
Unless otherwise specified, all posted opportunities are located in the New York or Greater Tri-State office locations.
