JOB REQUIREMENTS: The Executive Director leads ERI in advancing
employment opportunities, supporting personal choices, and enhancing the
well-being of individuals with disabilities. Key Executive Director
responsibilities include setting strategic goals, overseeing annual
workplans, empowering the Board in its governance, and managing program
development, grant-writing, fundraising, human resources, office
administration, and financial management. The Executive Director also
represents ERI, fostering strong relationships with the Board, funders,
partners, staff, and the public, while upholding high ethical standards
and integrity. The Executive Director is hired by the ERI Board of
Directors and is evaluated annually by the Board or its designees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provide direction and leadership to achieve
ERI's mission and its strategic goals. a. Collaborate with the Board on
strategic planning, regularly evaluating progress. b. Develop and manage
work plans to achieve short-term and long-term goals. c. Establish and
oversee performance measurement and evaluation systems to monitor the
effectiveness and sustainability of programs, ensuring alignment with
strategic goals. d. Develop and execute a strategic communication plan
to effectively convey ERI's mission, goals, and impact to internal and
external stakeholders. e. Implement equitable human resources policies
and procedures. f. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion across the
workforce, workplace, services, and partnerships. 2. Support the Board
in Governance: a. Ensure the Board has the information needed to fulfill
its strategic and fiduciary responsibilities as a nonprofit
organization. b. Communicate any compliance issues for Board discussion
and decision-making. c. Maintain bylaws and organizational standards to
support Board function. d. Provide timely and accurate program and
operational updates for Board decisions. e. Assist the Board in
monitoring the organization's financial performance and support
diversity initiatives. f. Participate in Board meetings and committees
and collaborate with the Board President on meeting agendas, logistics,
and Board recruitment, including onboarding of new members. 3. Provide
organizational leadership. a. Engage with local, state, and national
leaders, policymakers, and partners to advocate for ERI's mission and
influence public policy for people with disabilities. b. Develop an
annual budget for Board approval and monitor financial performance. c.
Lead grant writing, fundraising initiatives, and revenue development
efforts to ensure financial sustainability of the organization. d.
Ensure management practices align with Board policies and comply with
relevant laws and regulations, grant administration, and other relevant
provisions. e. Monitor contract compliance and revise HR policies as
needed. f. Maintain appropriate staff levels and provide them with
professional development opportunities. g. Promote collaboration,
empowerment, and accountability within the organization. h. Align
program implementation with ERI's mission and objectives. i. Develop
and implement succession planning for leadership continuity. 4. Other
duties as assigned. a. Perform additional duties as requested by the
Board of Directors. b. Adhere to confidentiality, security, and privacy
protocols to protect sensitive information. * OTHER EXPERIENCE
AND QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Education:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, human
resources, communication, marketing, sociology, social work, community
leadership, or a related field. Leadership Experience: Substantial
leadership experience at a management level of a department or
organization, including staff management, financial oversight, strategic
development, and marketing/communications. Resource Development
Experience: Demonstrated success in building and implementing a diverse
revenue development plan, including grant writing, fee for service
contracts, and donor development. Human Resources Management: A minimum
of five years managing employees and overseeing human resources
functions. Regulatory Compliance: Five years of experience managing
programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as
well as contractual obligations. Board Relations: Experience working
with a nonprofit Board or other advisory group. Mission-Driven: Strong
commitment to the organization's mission, vision, and values, with the
ability to translate these into effective programmatic and operational
outcomes. Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of
regulations governing nonprofit organizations. Managerial Expertise:
Expertise in management and motivational theories, particularly in
leading teams. Strategic and Financial Planning: Proficiency in
strategic planning, goal setting, financial planning, and budgeting
