THE ROLE
The Executive Director Real Estate Planning, provides leadership for the implementation of strategic real estate planning activities, including but not limited to community master planning, institutional master planning, land use planning and architectural, design and technical standards related to the built environment. The Executive Director is responsible to ensure planning strategies, activities and approaches are aligned with system priorities.
The Real Estate Strategy and Operations division is accountable for $16B total portfolio (various product types) $2.4B total CapEx management ($500M annual run rate) and $1B total annual OpEx spend.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Leads teams in the development of community master planning processes in alignment with organizational strategic plans across the System to ensure the appropriate physical assets are in place to carry out the strategic vision of the organization.
Accountable for keeping current with emerging conditions and trends in health care and implications to strategic master facility planning.
Oversees the development and leadership of the Standards and Design team in support of local space programming, code and clinic standard space reviews, and the development of acute care standards.
Oversees the development and leadership of the Land Use team, accountable for leading internal/external teams and participates in state and local legislative and regulatory bodies as appropriate to facilitate the approval process for health care facility master planning, land use applications, zoning changes, and traffic entitlements.
Oversees the development and leadership of the infrastructure and environmental stewardship team, accountable for the advancement of the department's sustainability and infrastructure goals .
Responsible for representing the organization and creating influence with community partners and jurisdiction having authority (i.e. local planning and development divisions) in support of institutional planning.
Responsible for leading the evaluation of a facility's market population, its current penetration, and demographic trends.
Provides leadership for the System's Strategic Plan as a representative from RESO and serves as a consultant to other shared services and lines of business for the planning of new and or the expansion of existing facilities
Serves as a consultant for the prioritization and strategic recommendations for market growth aspirations.
Responsible to bring together geographically and culturally disparate groups to form a cohesive and highly functioning team.
Serves as a consultant with the regions in the planning and conceptualization of hospital and ambulatory building plans and/or expansions. In partnership with construction management, develops feasibility studies, initial budgets, and schedules for review by decision making groups.
Provides leadership to team of planning, design, and sustainability directors. Provides performance and development management to promote a high performing team.
Position requires the ability to travel throughout the system.

QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration. Public Health or similar degree
