Overview
The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing the success of all functions in the Housekeeping and Laundry areas including supervising the cleanliness of guest rooms and all hotel areas including lobbies, public areas, bathrooms, guest floors, and bar/restaurant. Also manages guest request services, schedules, payroll, ordering supplies and maintaining inventories, managing department within budget, and leading safety program. Other functions include; selecting, training and developing Team Members and attending in house group meetings.
Responsibilities
• Constantly. Monitors payroll hours and reports.
• Constantly. Assures property operation meets internal audit standards.
• Constantly. Coordinate with General Manager and Chief Engineer in the repair and maintenance program as related to guestrooms and public areas.
• Constantly. Demonstrate positive leadership, which inspires employees to meet and exceed standards.
• Constantly. Maintain work areas neat and organized.
• Constantly. Maintain inventory of guestrooms and housekeeping supplies including all month-end inventories.
• Constantly. Promote employee empowerment.
• Constantly. Report all unsafe conditions immediately.
• Constantly. Select, train, supervise, schedule, develop, discipline, and counsel employees according to Davidson policies and procedures.
• Frequently. Attends as well as schedules and conducts departmental meetings.
• Frequently. Completes reports (i.e., forecasts, annual budgets, action plans, etc.).
• Frequently. Coordinates all the needs of the Housekeeping department.
• Frequently. Follow through on guest complaints and requests regarding room services and ensure the appropriate follow-up with guests.
• Frequently. Inspect property guestrooms, linen rooms, public areas, and all office space to ensure company standards of housekeeping are being maintained.
• Frequently. Purchase all basic cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment.
• Occasionally. Conduct performance appraisals.
• Constantly. Maintain lost and found.
• Frequently. Coordinate training for new employees.
• Frequently. Perform in the capacity of any person supervised to include cross training.
• Frequently. Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Occasionally. Inspect rooms for VIP arrivals.
Qualifications
• Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent experience.
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees.
• 2+ years prior housekeeping management experience.
• Read, write and speak English fluently.
• The ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful.
• Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity.
• High school math level required.
• No employee will pose a direct threat to the health/safety of self or others.
