About the Job
The Executive Meetings Market Group Sales Manager is responsible for handling group business for all groups between 5 - 30 attendees. The manager would be responsible for understanding the client's needs for an overnight group stay/meeting and then sell the resort's accommodations and meeting space to meet their needs. They would be responsible for selling all of the resorts lines of business including banquets, golf, spa, and the Sports Club. This position requires the sales manager to also service the groups once a contract is secured. This would include handling banquet event orders, meeting with clients, and following up as needed during the client's visit. Building relationships with meeting planners and other executives that book corporate or association meetings are essential. Knowledge of and negotiating group sales contracts is important.
Essential Job Functions
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly and annual budgeted revenue goals.
- Support the revenue goals of a market by generating business referrals.
- Evaluate and initiate opportunities for developing new sources of business. Qualify leads and prospects gained from cold calls, incoming leads, prospecting, outside sales calls, sales blitzes and other sources. Qualify in-house guests for additional business and referrals.
- Work flexible hours.
- Review daily status of business, schedules, priority assignments, booking and all information pertinent to the department operation.
- Accurately maintain and build a database of clients.
- Accurately block meeting space and guest rooms in Delphi (CRM).
- Manage room blocks. Responsible for overall accuracy of the regional database.
- Organize traces for follow-up including compiling, analyzing and in-putting tracking data of long-term and new business relationships into Delphi. Effectively record and manage all group activity and sales efforts in Delphi
- Responsible for maintaining overall consistent accuracy in all communication, including proposals, contracts, verbal, written and digital communication and correspondence to clients.
- Service all groups contracted from initial introduction letter to BEO's and on-site contact.
- Keep the DOSM informed of questions, concerns or problems arising from customers within the market so as to ensure correction and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain all Hotel standards.
- Calls and emails are to be responded to in same day; RFPs within 24 hours.
- Meet with clients as needed to work out the details of their requirements for securing definite group business.
- Suggestively sell Hotel features, benefits and amenities.
- Participate in weekly sales meetings and offer creative ideas and strategies with other staff members to identify potential clients or markets.
- Maintain strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, V1, excel and other applications as may be required to perform the functions of this position.
