Executive Sous Chef - Hotel Restaurant & Banquets - Schulte Companies

Waterstone Resort & Marina, A Curio Collection by Hilton property, managed by Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Executive Sous Chef to join our team! This is a unique opportunity as food and beverage is at the heart of our Resort's repositioning.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and adjacent areas

* Creative menu planning to adjust to guest needs

* Overseeing food preparation

* Checking quality of food deliveries

* Ordering food and cleaning supplies and maintaining proper supply levels

* Maintaining costs within budget levels

* Manage labor costs, schedules and productivity

* Hiring, coaching and disciplining direct reports

* Interacting positively and professionally with guests to resolve issues

* Acting as Manager on duty as required

* Perform various other duties as assigned to meet business objectives

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

* Bachelor's degree &/or Culinary Arts Degree preferred; equivalent experience and training will be considered

* STRONG Banquet background, preferred.

* Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a culinary leadership role

* Food Manager safety certification preferred or obtained within 30-days of hire

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

* Ability to multi-task

* Can read a BEO & understands timeline of preparation for events

* Takes pride in output of product

* Enjoys training others and sharing knowledge

* Team player

* Ability to exceed expectations of guests
