Salary: Up to $85,000 per annum, plus two incentive bonuses and insurance benefits
Job Description:
We are an upscale restaurant in Palm Springs, CA, offering a unique fusion of upscale Hawaiian cuisine. We're seeking an Executive Sous Chef with a deep understanding of the culinary landscape and a desire to deliver an exceptional dining experience. Our ideal candidate is a leader who knows their way around a professional kitchen, is passionate about Hawaiian cuisine, and prioritizes food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in managing all aspects of the kitchen, ensuring the preparation and delivery of high-quality dishes
Collaborate with the Executive Chef on the creation and presentation of our unique Hawaiian menu items
Train, schedule, and supervise kitchen staff, maintaining a positive and professional work environment
Uphold the highest standards for food safety and cleanliness in the kitchen
Manage food and labor costs, and minimize waste to meet budget targets
Engage with vendors and suppliers to source the best quality ingredients
Act in the capacity of the Executive Chef during their absence
Address and resolve any food quality or service issues in a timely and professional manner
Participate in menu development and innovation, maintaining a fresh and dynamic food offering
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years culinary experience in an upscale restaurant setting, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Culinary degree or equivalent is preferred
Deep knowledge of Hawaiian cuisine and an innovative approach to food
Proficiency in kitchen operations, including food and labor cost controls
Excellent leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage a team
Familiarity with food safety regulations
