# Project Overview:
Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.
# Job Summary:
In this role, you will perform project or site expediting activities. You will contact suppliers, interpret production schedules and progress reports, prepare critical items reports, provide early warning of delays or supplier deficiencies, monitor supplier quality, and assist with tracing missing material. Your initiative and corrective actions will help ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment. #LI-AM3
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
# Major Responsibilities:
+ Contacts suppliers to obtain timely submission of engineering data and to follow-up on material acquisition, production progress and shipment.
+ Evaluates production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if their programs and work progress meet jobsite requirements.
+ Compiles data needed to prepare the critical items reports or other supplementary reports as required. Coordinates the accumulation of data from project expediters and issues reports for the expediting group.
+ Coordinates with planning and scheduling, field material coordinators or jobsite project expeditors and construction to establish priorities, sequences and required delivery dates and instructs suppliers accordingly.
+ Expedites Bechtel engineering for the timely review, approval and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
+ Represents expediting at project team meetings.
+ Maintains a working file of expediting related documents and memoranda of conversations to record expediting activities.
+ Maintains a system to initiate follow-up actions at appropriate times.
+ Provides information for area expediting assignments for prime and suborders as necessary.
+ Monitors outstanding area expediting assignments, reviews expediting reports, and takes corrective action on problems identified in the reports.
+ Updates Bechtel Digital Supply Chain System in a timely manner.
+ Obtains copies of supplier’s orders for material, performs sub-supplier expediting, where necessary, and works closely with supplier quality representatives to ensure awareness of materials subject to quality performance and their locations of manufacture.
+ Participates in pre- and post-award meetings to review and discuss schedules and potential problem areas that may impact required shipment dates.
+ Coordinates shipping arrangements or tracking requests with the project traffic representative.
+ Reviews material receiving reports against shipping documents to verify that material has been received at jobsite. Assists interacting missing material.
+ Subject to project requirements, monitors the issuance of material requisitions, and other project and procurement actions affecting material deliveries.
+ Supports Project Expediting Supervisor in reporting to Project or Client, attending meetings, and other roles and responsibilities as needed or required. Provides assistance, support and training to Expediting team as needed or required.
# Education and Experience Requirements:
+ Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.
# Required Knowledge and Skills:
+ Ability to work with engineering, construction and the other procurement team members.
+ Good understanding of production methods and stays abreast of all supplier fabrication steps.
+ Provides early warning to the Expediting Supervisor of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage.
+ Familiar with expediting points of order for pre-award and post-award meetings with suppliers.
