About the Position
Experienced Direct Interventionist (ABA Therapist) are provided by staff trained in basic behavior analytic principles. One-to-One services are provided to the consumer to address skill deficits and behavioral excesses using a variety of behavior analytic strategies. These services involve interacting with the consumer, implementing intervention plans, keeping ongoing data and adjusting contingencies to affect targeted behavior positively.
Qualifications
- Have completed 40 hours of ABA Training
- Met and surpassed all competency expectations
- Able to work with a variety of diagnosis, ability levels and ages of clients
- Ability to commit to a schedule for over 6 months
- Be reliable and competent in attendance and communication
- Conduct themselves in a professional, responsible and reliable manner
- Have a motivation to learn new skills and help people
- Be over the age of 18
- Possess a valid driver's license, have access to reliable transportation and have proof of automotive insurance
- Dependable, prompt and regular attendance required
- Complete and pass live scan fingerprint check
- Be available to commute to different locations to provide services, including long distances and from location to location within a session
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent such as General Educational Development (GED)
- Frequently lift objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds from a lower to a higher position and/or frequently move objects weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds horizontally from position-to-position
- Move about to accomplish tasks or to go from one location to another
- Ascend or descend stairs
- Remain in a stationary position
- Sit
- Bend at the waist
- Collect written and computer-driven data while understanding basic computer operations
- Visually track one or more clients engaging in gross motor and fine motor activities
- Pursue a client who is running away, eloping, or fleeing from staff in a manner to attain safe containment
- Prevent a client from mouthing items
- Prevent client from engaging in self-injurious behavior
- Successfully complete the minimum competency training and/or pass tests demonstrating knowledge included in the minimum competency training
- Perform intensive behavioral intervention; Mobility, Tactile Processing, Visual Processing, Audio Processing
- Available to work Monday-Friday: 8 AM-3 PM
Job Description
- Works under the supervision of the Lead, Supervisor, Manager of Clinical Services, Divisional Clinical Supervisor, Associate Clinical Director, Clinical Director, Human Resource Manager, Executive Clinical Director, Executive Director
- Implements behavior services at client's home, school, and community
- Implements behavior intervention as taught, advised, guided and appropriate
- Collects, records and summarizes data on target behaviors
- Maintains updated notebook and record of consumer's program
- Implements changes as requested by the supervisor
- Monitors consumers' program and progress
- Attends and participates in team meetings
- Collaborates with parents and other personnel working with the consumer
- Provides parent education under the supervision of the Supervisor
- Helps to create stimuli for the program
