Experienced Diesel Mechanic - Maxway Trucking

Summary:

Maxway is seeking a Diesel Mechanic who will provide daily maintenance, repairs and adjustments on all types of gasoline and diesel powered vehicles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ability to perform simple repairs, adjustments and routine inspections.
• Diagnose and repair the equipment as needed
• Inspect, repair and replace tires
• Routine maintenance on the whole fleet
• Keep current on manufacturing changes to vehicles and equipment. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
• Immediately take appropriate measures to insure personal safety and the safety of others.
• Lift, push and pull 50lbs+ multiple times per shift.

Qualifications:

• Some experience driving a variety of heavy equipment is beneficial but not required.
• Must have tools
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions.
• 2+ years of experience on commercial vehicles and fleet maintenance 
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors and the public.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• At least 2 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and machinery. Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
