Truck Driver Schedule
12 hour shifts, 3 shifts per week, starting as early as 3AM
Our client is leading the way in middle-mile delivery by developing a safe, efficient, delivery solution that addresses real pain points for the retail industry. Operating on fixed, predetermined routes, they are the first company to develop and deploy light/medium duty auto box trucks.
We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter to help test and improve the performance of the company's driverless 26-foot-long trucks in running routes to transport dry cargo, obtain data, and fix technical issues.
Truck Driver Requirements
- 3 years possessing a valid Class A or B driver’s license
- 3 years recent (within the last 5 years), local delivery driving experience in 26’ box trucks
- Note: experience must include middle mile deliveries (e.g. warehouse to fulfillment center
- 25 years old with a clean background check, drug screen and Motor Vehicle Record check
- Willing and able to work flexible hours on both weekdays and weekends
- Customer relationship management experience with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Organized and proactive, possessing solid mechanical aptitude/basic mechanical skills
- Basic computer skills including the ability to learn and successfully use applications
Preferred Truck Driver Qualifications:
- 3 years experience driving 26’ box trucks for middle-mile deliveries in the Irving area
- Experience driving box trucks up to 35’ in length
- Class A CDL
- Previous relevant experience in automotive technology/engineering roles or as an automotive technician
As a Truck Driver, you will:
Safely operate Truck for on-time in route customer deliveries:
- Ensure operation of different trucks for delivery an testing
- Manually drive the vehicles before moving toward autonomous operations.
- Act as an ambassador for the company, their technology and staff, and the clients.
- Ensure vehicles arrive at pick-up and drop-off locations on time and that the integrity of goods is retained on each journey.
- Assist with loading and unloading of customer goods using company equipment including pallet jacks, carts, dollies, or other material handling equipment via docks and vehicle lift gates.
Support our Customers and Teams:
- Act as an ambassador for the company, their technology and staff, and the clients.
- Use Slack software to update the Dispatch team on the status of each step of your shift/route.
- Record and/or review data via spreadsheets and other business-related applications.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adopt new operating procedures when required.
- Perform ad hoc projects as needed, including truck delivery to new locations, testing and/or installing new equipment and other initiatives or pilots.
Complete route testing and vehicle performance feedback:
- As required, collaborate with both software and hardware engineers and other members of the operations team to follow collection and drop-off procedures on each journey.
- Provide feedback to Operations and Engineering teams on vehicle processes and performance.
