Summary of Duties:
Supports operations by handling and/or assisting with overall daily activities associated with warehouse operations including receiving and stowing, picking and/or packing as needed, shipping, inventory management and documentation. Assists in the planning of efficient layouts, workflows, and utilization of warehouse space and monitors the safety and security of materials.
What You'll Do:
- Enter customer orders and maintain precise documentation on all pallets so that orders maintain integrity and accuracy.
- Compile and send daily shipping reports to required customers.
- Compile and send inventory reports to required customers weekly or as needed.
- Communicate with customers to answer any questions or concerns regarding orders and shipments.
- Assist in the maintenance of filing systems and filing daily paperwork as needed.
- Weekly, physically verify all inventory on the floor, correct unreported operations to consolidate physical inventory with Visual system inventory. (Assist with periodic inventory audits of in-house orders)
- Communicate with customers to verify/update orders and confirm shipments and provide tracking.
- Update customers and managers of any discrepancies in pricing and or quantities/carton count.
- Other customer service duties and requests required by Operations Support Lead, or Plant Manager.
- Schedule daily pickups and special pickups for our customers, both through call-ins and web portal.
- Create packing lists and BOL's for daily shipments.
- Create and pack UPS and FedEx orders.
- Look up past orders when required by accounting, or company leadership.
- Operates forklift or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Adheres identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
- Unpacks and examines incoming and outgoing shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures, report any unsafe conditions, or safety incidents in a timely manner.
- Assist department management with other duties or special projects when assigned or as time allows.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 18 years old
- PRIOR FORKLIFT EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED
- Associate's degree in business or another related discipline and a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience in an industrial environment; or High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years of applicable scheduling experience. Other education and experience combinations may be considered.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proficient in keyboarding, data entry, and office equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift to 70 pounds at frequent intervals.
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment.
- This job will require standing, stooping, and bending at least 50% of the time.
