About the Job
Job Responsibilities:
- Sourcing, compiling, and validating financial information used in the Firm's externally reported financials including schedule preparation, validation of source information and variance and trend analysis
- Ensure conformity with applicable Regulatory or GAAP guidance and interact with accounting and regulatory policy to interpret rules
- Manage relationships with key contacts within the controller organization
- Lead and drive strategic initiatives around automation of the regulatory reporting infrastructure including testing and implementation, documentation of risk and controls and general improvements related to reporting functionality
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and external reporting improvement projects
- Maintain documentation to support the SOX control framework and internal audit standards
- Provide supporting information required by auditors and regulatory authorities.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or comparable work experience
- 5+ years work experience in public accounting, audit or financial services industry
- Ability to manage projects that require analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and time management
- Experience working in an environment that requires attention to detail and adherence to strict rules and standards
- Excellent teamwork and oral and written communication skills
- Flexible - work outside of normal business hours will be necessary on a periodic basis
- Strong Excel and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
- Experience with data mining tools is a plus
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Driven and has controls and continuous process improvement mindset
