Step into a dynamic role at JPMorgan Chase. As an External Controllers Associate in the JPMorgan Chase Consumer and Community Banking (CCB) Regulatory / SEC Controllers team you will be responsible for ensuring compliance and overall accuracy of financial statements and required report filings with the Federal Reserve Bank, OCC, FDIC, and SEC. You will be involved in strategic initiative projects and communicate effectively to Senior leadership. You will utilize available resources to develop your technical knowledge of tools of the future (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau, SQL).
Job Responsibilities:
+ Sourcing, compiling, and validating financial information used in the Firm's externally reported financials including schedule preparation, validation of source information and variance and trend analysis
+ Ensure conformity with applicable Regulatory or GAAP guidance and interact with accounting and regulatory policy to interpret rules
+ Manage relationships with key contacts within the controller organization
+ Lead and drive strategic initiatives around automation of the regulatory reporting infrastructure including testing and implementation, documentation of risk and controls and general improvements related to reporting functionality
+ Participate in continuous improvement efforts around data quality review and external reporting improvement projects
+ Maintain documentation to support the SOX control framework and internal audit standards
+ Provide supporting information required by auditors and regulatory authorities.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or comparable work experience
+ 5+ years work experience in public accounting, audit or financial services industry
+ Ability to manage projects that require analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking and time management
+ Experience working in an environment that requires attention to detail and adherence to strict rules and standards
+ Excellent teamwork and oral and written communication skills
+ Flexible - work outside of normal business hours will be necessary on a periodic basis
+ Strong Excel and computer skills
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
+ Experience with data mining tools is a plus
+ Strong organizational and project management skills
+ Driven and has controls and continuous process improvement mindset
