Position Overview:
- The position is in the Network Architecture and Engineering team which is part of the Infrastructure Services (EIS) organization.
- A Senior Application Delivery Architect with extensive experience in architecting and designing global Application Delivery solutions for large scale global enterprises.
- The role of the Application Delivery Network Architect is focused on the proper design and implementation of the global Application Delivery framework for the firm.
- As a key member of the Network Architecture & Engineering team, will be responsible for delivering high level and low designs for Application Delivery technologies.
- Working closely with Application and Infrastructure support teams the role will also act in an advisory capacity to ensure that applications and services take full advantage of the Application Delivery architecture and capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Create strategic roadmaps for Application Delivery products and the vision for the evolution of advanced Application Delivery services.
- Drive the design and oversee the deployment of Application Delivery services across several regions working closely with local engineering teams and 3rd party vendors and providing leadership in this arena.
- Take primary ownership of the Application Delivery platform and understanding in detail its surrounding environment, including firewalls and physical and virtual networks.
- Possess the capability to see the big picture and understanding the strategic place of the Application Delivery ecosystem in it.
- Provide consulting and guidance to application architects as well as peer engineering, operations, and systems teams.
- Work in close concert with the Resiliency programs to take advantage of Application Delivery features and functions.
- Partner with regional technology colleagues to ensure services meet the local technical, business, and financial requirements but adhere to the global strategy.
- Prepare and present executive level material on the proposed solutions and benefits to Client.
- Create the necessary high level and low-level design documentation for the delivery and operational team hand-offs.
- Cultivate relationships with Application and Infrastructure teams and act as a facilitator and evangelist for the platform.
- Provide Operational deployment guidance and assistance.
- Following established procedures and self-service processes independently.
- Comprehend the deployment of the existing Application Delivery platform(s) to be able to envision and create a comprehensive design of the new Application Delivery platform(s).
- Recommend and drive the adoption of management tools for performance, capacity and inventory management.
- Drive the automation of key services and provide use cases across features and functionality.
- Participate in extended sessions and workshops to establish takeaways resulting in an understanding of priorities and what is important both tactically and strategically.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Application Delivery solutions in large enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of Linux and Unix operating systems.
- Scripting and automation knowledge and demonstrated experience.
- Direct experience in the design and implementation of large-scale Application Delivery solutions:
- F5
- AVI / NSX
- NetScaler
- Azure, AWS, & GCP Native Load Balancing
- Excellent communications skills and ability to work well with Application architects and Infrastructure teams.
- Ability to create architectural and design recommendations including financial justification and present to peers and senior managers.
- Self-starter and capable of setting direction, seeking opportunities for improvement with minimal supervision while demonstrating leadership to other badged employees and contractors.
