General Description
This position is responsible for daily production of the CNC Router, Laser, Punch Press and Brake Press working towards the highest standards of quality, efficiency, safety and housekeeping. This position also performs the Fabrication Supervisor duties and oversees staff when needed.
Principle Responsibilities
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand and to use hands and arms to move parts. The employee is frequently required to walk, and is occasionally required to stoop or kneel. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

General Description
This position is responsible for daily production of the CNC Router, Laser, Punch Press and Brake Press working towards the highest standards of quality, efficiency, safety and housekeeping. This position also performs the Fabrication Supervisor duties and oversees staff when needed.
Principle Responsibilities
- Program and operate CNC router/laser/punch press/brake press to produce an on-time quality product.
- Perform daily tasks including; update PPM sheet, inventory check list and labor hours, review production schedule, assemble shop packets, issue finished goods and pick list and correct work area negatives.
- Ensure tasks are completed accurately based on Supervisor’s instructions and/or information contained in the shop packet.
- Read and understand engineering prints, use tape measures, caliper and other measuring instruments to ensure accuracy of work.
- Perform set-up and quality checks. Complete sign off worksheets to ensure accuracy of work.
- As needed, back up the Supervisor coordinating daily activities of the team; oversee staff and effectively communicate production expectations.
- As needed, Review labor hours and production schedule to ensure job deadlines are met.
- As needed, inspect the Fabrication area at the end of each shift to ensure housekeeping tasks have been met.
- As needed, approve vacation and time off requests of the Fabrication team.
- As needed, direct equipment repair, maintenance and general housekeeping of the Fabrication area.
- Contribute to implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance of all Company and government regulatory safety standards.
- Be an effective team player. Interact and work cross-functionally with all MDI departments.

- All other duties as assigned by management.
- Effective interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills to foster a positive work environment.
- Strong leadership, problem solving and teambuilding skills to direct work center team.
- Proficient in metrology and the use of various inspection devices to measure within 1/16th of an inch.
- Ability to set-up and operate all machinery within the CNC area.
- Experience in fabrication production environment with a good working knowledge of industry standards.
- 3-5 years of CNC programming/operator experience.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office applications (Excel & Word).
- Knowledge of Lotus and Mac-Pac software a plus.
