General Purpose: Provides quality inspections in regards to welding and welders certifications, pressure
vessels, heat exchangers and boilers, painting and coating, structural steel, civil, electrical, mechanical and
vendor surveillance.
Additional Compensation: Per Diem will be included in pay, and trips home provided when
applicable. (This information will be in the Samuel EPC Employee Exempt Handbook)
Work Schedule: Varies by location. Must have open availability any time any day of the week.
Responsibilities & Duties
Implement the project audit schedule for all multi-disciplinary systems, products and/or processes
on the construction task force including the contractors organizations at the jobsites.
Assist in the development and review of the project Quality Program documentation manuals, work
processes and reporting of quality records management of quality documents.
Assist in developing a jobsite orientation program to ensure the project team is familiar with the
requirements of the Project Quality Program.
Prepare and issue audit reports noting system non-conformances and verifying effective
corrective/preventative actions.
Deliver audit assessment findings to Construction Manager, and Corporate QA/QC Manager to
help evaluate the need for any corrective/preventative action.
Follow-up audit findings including, corrective/preventative actions.
Assess sub-contractors capabilities to meet the quality requirements of the project as required.
Responsibility for the performance of all inspection and testing activities as defined by contract.
Assure that the contract obligations for testing and record keeping are adhered to.
Control calibrated measuring and test equipment used on the project.
Keep calibration records and ensure that all testing equipment has current calibration records.
Ensure proper turnover of complete quality control package(s). Responsible for ensuring that
turnover documentation is maintained, organized and turned over on schedule.
Maintain project quality records for the construction phase of the project and quality audit plans,
performance and management thereof.
Assist Corporate QC Manager to monitor the field document control system for construction drawings
(from home office Engineering), specifications, test and inspection reports, vendor data and asbuilt
drawings.
Perform evaluations of sub-contractors facilities to determine their capabilities in meeting the
quality requirements.
Conduct periodic Quality Program training for site supervisory personnel.
Maintain current documentation on mechanical inspections of Electrical installed items (plumb, square,
level, tight, etc.)
Insure all Civil testing is being performed by certified inspection technicians (i.e. density of subgrades,
concrete testing, grout testing, etc.)

Insure all installation of concrete/grout has been observed, continue observance through post pouring
of concrete and maintain all documentation required for installation.
Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned by the Construction Manager as
needed.
All other duties as normally required by our QA/QC Department, and as required by daytoday business.
Work with in precise limits and standards of accuracy
Work within company policy as outlined in the Samuel EPC Craft Handbook, compliant with the
Samuel EPC Human Resources Policy Manual, and with the Samuel EPC Safety Manual and OSHA Safety
rules.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications
Five (5) years of formal training and experience in heavy industrial projects such as refineries, petro
chemical complexes, power plants, etc.
Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) is Required
Ability to effectively interact with project team members, clients, subcontractors, and craft employees.
Possess technological skills such as operating a computer, sending/receiving emails, scan, and print
documents. Also, be able to work in Microsoft Word, and Excel; and work in PDF modification
programs such as Bluebeam or Adobe.
Must exhibit ability to read and interpret P&IDs, and ISOs as well as show an understanding of codes
and specifications.
Must be capable of obtaining or possess inspection licenses and/or certifications as required
Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other
preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
Physical Requirements
Stand or walk for long periods of time
Use arms and hands to reach for, handle or manipulate objects
Lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift items weighing more than 50
pounds with assistance
Climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other objects while carrying tools and equipment

Environment: Works out of a main office or out of a field office at the construction site, monitors the all
phases of the construction project, may travel extensively when not assigned to a construction site, usually
entails temporary residence away from primary residence, deals with delays, the effects of bad weather, or
emergencies at the site. Although the work usually is not considered inherently dangerous, must be
careful while performing onsite services.
