Joe W. Fly Co., Inc. is looking for a Fabrication Technician to join our growing team in Waco, TX.
As a Fabrication Technician, you will be responsible for the set-up, operation, and maintenance of machinery. We are looking for someone who is capable of properly running machinery and assembling material by hand. Responsibilities
- Fabricate filter holding frames and other materials related to the HVAC industry and our company’s services.
- Operate in-house equipment
- Inspect, sort, and stage product
- Prepare and load product for shipping
- Complete logs and reports daily
- Follow safety regulations and guidelines always when operating mechanical or computer-operated equipment
Qualifications
- Must at least have a high school diploma or GED
- Legally eligible to work within the United States
- Complete a 7-year background check with satisfactory results
- Read, write, and speak English with strong communication and time-management skills
- Possess basic math skills including converting fractions to decimals and reading and understanding angles
- Keen attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operation issues
- Able to operate a forklift. Forklift certification a plus.
- Requires use of tape measure and basic hand and power tools, such as drills, rivet guns, metal shears, etc.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced
