Fabricator I - The Copper River Family of Companies

About the Job
ReconCraft is seeking a Fabricator to be responsible for all manners of fabrication to manufacture new vessels and related components. Duties include preparing, assembling, and welding all components to create a final assembly or sub-assembly based on specifications and/or drawings.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Operate welding equipment using appropriate GMAW and GTAW techniques to weld aluminum and steel sheet, plate, and extrusion in all positions
- Prepare weldments using tools such as saws, routers, grinders, pneumatic cutting tools, wire brushes and various hand tools of the trade
- Basic interpretation of blueprints, drawings, weld symbols and schedules to lay out patterns on material
- Perform welding in the fabrication phase of construction, including the pre-fabrication of sub-assemblies such as bulkheads, girders, decks, and cabins using jigs and fixtures
- Secure small parts for assembly and welding
- Perform operation of overhead cranes, forklifts, man lifts, and other fabrication equipment
- Maintain a professional, neat, and secure fabrication area
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school graduate or GED
- Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Valid driver's license
- Aluminum welding and fabrication experience
- Must pass the Welding and Fabrication testing given on site
- Preferred Knowledge/Experience:
- Fabricating and assembling aluminum vessels and/or aluminum vessel components
- Interpreting blueprints, drawings, weld symbols, and weld schedules
- Operating forklifts with certification
- Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs
- This position requires grasping, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing, and visual acuity
- Must also be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to complete tasks
