Salary: $24.40 - $30.87 per hour (Performance-Based Pay)
Lunch: 30-Minute Unpaid Lunch Break (Mandatory)
Breaks: Two 15-Minute Paid Breaks (Mandatory)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator specializing in welding and metal fabrication for commercial doors and frames. The ideal candidate will have experience working with steel and other metals to fabricate custom doors, frames, and hardware components for commercial applications. This position requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with a variety of metal materials and machinery to produce high-quality fabricated parts that meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Metal Fabrication: Use welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) to fabricate and assemble custom doors, frames, and hardware components to specification. Work with various metals, including steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to determine exact specifications for fabrication, ensuring that parts are produced to meet precise dimensions and design standards.
- Quality Control: Inspect and measure fabricated parts to ensure compliance with industry standards, project specifications, and company quality control procedures. Correct defects or imperfections in materials as necessary.
- Assembly: Assemble door frames, hardware, and other metal components into finished products, ensuring accurate alignment, fit, and functionality.
- Machinery Operation: Operate and maintain metalworking machinery, including saws, drills, grinders, and welding equipment, ensuring all machines are functioning safely and efficiently.
- Cutting and Shaping: Perform cutting, bending, and shaping of metal materials using hand tools and machines to prepare materials for welding and assembly.
- Welding & Metal Joining: Apply appropriate welding methods to join metals, ensuring strong, clean, and durable welds that adhere to safety standards and project requirements.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, use proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding welding and metal fabrication.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and track materials and supplies needed for fabrication, ensuring that stock levels are sufficient for projects and that tools and equipment are well-maintained.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, estimators, and other fabricators to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on fabrication tools and machinery to ensure they remain in good working order and are ready for use at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: At least 2+ years of experience in welding, metal fabrication, or a similar field, particularly with the fabrication of commercial doors and frames.
- Welding Certifications: Valid welding certifications (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick welding) or the willingness to obtain certification.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of various metalworking techniques, including welding, cutting, grinding, and shaping metals.
- Tool Proficiency: Ability to operate and maintain welding equipment, grinders, drills, saws, and other metalworking tools.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail, ensuring all fabricated parts meet the exact specifications and quality standards.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting heavy materials, standing for long periods, and working in varying temperatures.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fabrication, welding, and assembly processes.
- Safety Awareness: Knowledge of and commitment to workplace safety standards, including proper use of PPE and safe operation of tools and equipment.
- Teamwork: Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications: Additional welding certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) or other trade-specific credentials.
- Experience in Commercial Fabrication: Previous experience fabricating doors and frames for commercial or industrial applications.
- Advanced Fabrication Techniques: Familiarity with advanced welding techniques, CNC equipment, and automated fabrication tools.
- Forklift Certification: Ability to operate a forklift for moving heavy materials.
