The Senior Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all Rooms To Go Maintenance departments at all distribution centers. This position requires a strategic leader with experience in multi-state oversight and must be capable of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. Provide oversight, guidance and direction while maintaining transparency and consistency across all managed departments. This position will be expected to streamline communication across the multiple teams and provide guidance on projects and changes when local, state and federal codes and guidelines are to be followed. While assuring adherence to safety regulations, to ensure timely completion of equipment maintenance and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manages all maintenance projects in all corporate offices, distribution centers, cross docks, and related facilities.
- Work as ultimate point of contact on maintenance projects, changes and requests when local, state and federal codes and guidelines are to be followed.
- Manage all Maintenance departments at all DC locations.
- Monitor and ensure maintenance work order system is functioning and adhered to while following up on performance metrics.
- Oversees preventive maintenance activities of the technical staff.
- Develops maintenance routines, schedules and procedures.
- Manages the approval and execution process with other departmental and internal staff.
- Ensures completion of maintenance audits for improved efficiencies and maintains safety standards.
- Maintains a team's working environment with all other departmental managers for improved facilities performance.
- Supervises all regional managers and their skilled technical trades personnel, to include hiring, training, and personal development.
- Ability to manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies, procedures
- Ability to draft reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.
- Ability to act independently and take initiative to solve problems, implement solutions, and create new processes
- Ability to maintain all job-related information in a confidential and private manner.
- Ensures performance management, coaching and development of team members through established HR process and disciplinary actions.
- Travel to RTG facilities.
- Performs other duties as required.
Essential Requirements
- Must possess working knowledge warehouse powered equipment.
- Must possess working knowledge of recycle systems (shredders, balers and conveyors).
- Knowledge of disaster/hazard planning principles for natural disasters in preparation protocols and disaster recovery operations.
- Familiarity with OSHA requirements in the maintenance and operations of RTG facilities.
- Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressively complex management and related experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to effectively present and communicate with all levels within the organization, with agencies and vendors.
- Proficient with standard Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel).
- Demonstrates ability to manage staff performance, including development and accountability.
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines and adjust to sudden changes in workflow.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to think independently, take corrective action, and to resolve employee inquiries and requests for information.
