POSITION SUMMARY
Provides chemical engineering project management and guidance to on-site maintenance, repair and testing of semiconductor wet systems including chemical, ultrapure water, and waste water neutralization, and fluoride treatment distribution equipment. Assists EHS department with data collection for the preparation of environmental compliance plans, permits, and reports for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater. Monitors chemical purity and quality issues. Maintains audit ready records for ISO quality and environmental audits. Assists in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Teamwork: Work effectively with facilities technicians, UPW technicians and facilities engineers to assist in safety reviews, work planning, operational support, system improvements, and task execution as required to support the factory with no unplanned interruptions. Orders and maintains spare part inventory; responds to emergency service calls as required; and instructs facility technicians on factory recommended system operation and maintenance. Primary engineering responsibility for chemical, ultrapure water, and waste water neutralization distribution equipment.
Project Engineering: Assess potential failure modes and effects (FMEA) and regularly review facility system operating conditions with intention of optimizing conditions for wet systems. Sponsor construction contractors for assigned projects and ensure no unplanned site interruptions occur. Provide engineering support to facilities systems driving upgrade projects from concept to completion, as required for continuous improvement of the facilities systems to ensure that support and services of the department meet the highest quality standards and performance. Support new tool installations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and review technical specifications and contract drawings for facility projects.
- Assist in preparation of requests for proposals for outside contractors (RFP's)
- Continuously review facility system operating conditions reviewing analytical data and/or evaluations and optimizing conditions for facility mechanical systems.
- Assist in training all facility technicians in the proper maintenance and operation of existing ultrapure water and waste systems.
Engineering Duties:
- Provide engineering support for assigned systems.
- Prepare and submit written reports as required.
- Prepare alternative proposals, make recommendations and design selected system upgrades
- Audit existing ultrapure water systems and insure specifications and proper operational conditions are met.
- Troubleshoot out of specification problem(s). Identify problem and implement solution.
- Review, comment and approve various engineering designs for compliance with company policies and specifications as well as governmental requirements.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and work in the field and at desk for 8 hour shift.
May require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry safety procedures when working with one or more potentially dangerous elements or conditions.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering.
- Aptitude and desire to manage complex, cross-functional, highly integrated projects
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Ability to multi-task, be flexible, and work independently with minimal supervision. Good team player.
- Willingness and ability to follow written procedures and to adhere to safety procedures. Must have a strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
- Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills; experience recording/writing detailed technical data and reports a plus.
- Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and 2D AutoCad
