The Impact You’ll Make
As a Facilities Engineer at Lam, with your project management expertise, you’ll plan and oversee facility changes for plant, tool installations, and production equipment layouts. You'll work with architects to develop design criteria, layouts, and prepare contracts. You inspect construction and installation progress to ensure adherence with established specifications and schedules. Your focus on performance specifications required to meet unique operating conditions contributes to the efficiency and compliance of Lam's state of the art facilities.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for Fremont and Livermore campus mechanical infrastructure systems
- Core mechanical systems of responsibility include, but not limited to:
- Primary Mechanical/Process systems (Clean Dry Air, Hot Water, Exhaust Air systems)
- Secondary Mechanical/Process systems (Process Cooling Water, Chilled Water, Air Handling systems, Humidification systems)
- Provide mechanical engineering design review input and approval for facility infrastructure and process tool installation projects
- Operational ownership of mechanical/process system performance
- Provide mechanical engineering construction input and commissioning support for facility infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with process PLC and commercial HVAC control systems
- Support as-build documentation of mechanical/process system layouts and P&ID’s
- Maintain load/capacity studies for facility infrastructure systems
- Provide direction of air and water balancing services
- Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time
- Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills
- Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects
- Work directly with contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational results
- Perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phase
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
Salary
CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $86,000.00 - $202,000.00.
The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
