POSITION SUMMARY: Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates and controls the activities of the plant operations and maintenance functions, which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utilities and grounds of this hospital in an operative and safe working condition. The position is accountable to the Support Services Director for maintaining the effective operations of physical structures associated with the organization, for administering labor and material controls, for training of maintenance personnel in safety and for effective management practices. The position is responsible for maintaining high employee satisfaction.
REQUIREMENTS:
Associate's Degree in a related field Or Trades Training/Certification equivalent to Associate's
5 years of maintenance - hospital/LTC building maintenance.
3 years of life safety code requirements experience.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and policy/procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, vendors and physicians.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Moderate computer software skills – Microsoft Office, email and electronic calendar (Outlook).
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of algebra, plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions, area circumference and volume.
PREFERRED:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
3 years of leadership - engineering and/or maintenance services experience
3 years of experience with Joint Commission requirements.
Healthcare Safety Certificate from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement(IHI)
Healthcare Facility Manager Certificate from the American Hospital Association.
AutoCAD, Revit, Computerized maintenance management software, AccessControl software and other software platforms.
