Job Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician willprovidemaintenance, construction, and repair of buildings, infrastructure, manufacturing tools, and production equipment with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
+ Install, maintain, and repair plant equipment such as plating equipment, pumps, valves and motors to meet manufacturer’s specifications and plant standards.
+ Trouble-shoot and problem solve machine or equipment process and control problems using lean tools, data analysis, test, measurement, and observation to repair or improve equipment productivity and performance.
+ Perform general facility maintenance to include flooring, sheet rock, painting, boiler and air conditioning systems, and general interior carpentry and building maintenance.
+ Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems to support plant and building operations.
+ Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring to provide power and lighting for all plant and building operations.
+ Perform general exterior maintenance to include building upkeep and repairs, parking lot maintenance, and lawn / landscaping upkeep.
+ General record keeping and filing.
+ Occasional pick up, delivery and/or moving and assembly of tools, equipment or furniture.
+ Work with hazardous materials such as paints and solvents to include storage and shipment.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Experience:
+ Two (2) or more years of experience in construction, equipment repairs or industrial maintenance activities. (Lesser experience may be considered for an energetic self-starter with a demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn on the job).
+ Previous HVAC experience is a plus.
+ Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
+ Knowledge of carpentry/construction, general mechanics, electricity, and plumbing tools and practices.
+ Knowledge of hazardous waste storage and handling.
+ Able to read, comprehend, and explain mechanical equipment design drawings.
+ Customer service is a primary function of the department.Excellent communication skills and tact are required to maintain a productive and collaborative environment.
+ Education/Certification:
+ High School diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Trade school training in the electrical, mechanical, HVAC and/or carpentry a plus.
+ Eligibility Requirement: This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Applicants selected could be subject to a Government security investigation and must meet the eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Working Conditions :
+ Conditions include typical industrial environments including indoor, outdoor, and rooftop year-round environments.
+ Tasks include the use of ladders, stairs, scaffolding, lifts, hand and power tools, meters and probes.
+ Must be able to work at heights.
+ Physical locations may require lying in prone position, kneeling, squatting, lifting, and occasional overhead reaching.
+ Must be able to physically lift 50 lbs.
+ Some weekend and extended hours are required based on equipment availability and production needs.
