Nature of Work
The Facilities Supervisoris responsible for all facility upkeep and maintenance for all Regina Coeli Child Development Center facilities as assigned. The Facilities Supervisorworks with the Director of Facilities & Transportation to provide leadership, designing, implementing and evaluation facility program systems.
Education
A minimum of five years of experience in maintenance and management. CDL with air brake and passenger endorsement preferred. Management degree preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Staff Supervision and Development (40%)
- Hire, mentor, coach, observe and evaluate the performance ofCustodians and Maintenance Techs as assigned
- Facilitate resolutions of conflicts
- Promote a consistent exchange of information in all directions.  
- Make daily work assignments for custodians and bus driversin accordance with priority needs.
Training and Development (20%)
- Plan and implement training for custodians and maintenance technicians to keep them apprised of the latest facility maintenance and cleaning techniques and supplies.
MaintenanceAdministration (35%)
- Plan and track maintenance of facilities for safest operation
- Oversee the physical maintenance operations and maintenance of all RCCDC facilities.
- Receive all requests for maintenance work and repairs for and prioritize the work requests.
- Perform periodic quality control inspections of facilities to determine effectiveness and efficiency of maintenance technicians.
- Assist with obtaining bids or quotes on all occupancy and transportation/vehicle expenditures in accordance with the RCCDC Financial Policies and Procedures to assure high quality at the most effective costs.
Miscellaneous (5%)
- Attend meetings, training and professional development activities as needed or requested by Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as requested.

- Significant experience in examining facility maintenance operations and procedures, formulating policies, and developing new strategies for improving facility maintenance
- Advanced knowledge and ability to repair and maintain equipment, furniture, fixtures, facility systems, grounds and structures
- Knowledge of all federal, state, and local codes and ordinances pertinent to facilities planning, design, construction, and maintenance
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced level computer skills, internet and e-mail.
- Diplomacy and human relations skills required.
- Ability to handle highly stressful and sensitive situations in a professional manner.
Special Considerations
Employees within this classification are required to:
- Obtain a Louisiana Child Care Criminal Background Check Determination of Eligibility
- Pass a physical examination every three years
- Maintain a valid driver's license with a driving record in compliance with RCCDC's insurance carrier requirements.
- Be able to frequently sit, work at computer keyboard and desk, and stand to file documents in filing cabinets.
- Be able to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Be able to travel to all sites.
- Be able to travel overnight as required.
- Be able to sustain concentration and ability to handle multiple tasks often simultaneously.
- Regular lifting up to 70lbs, to load and transport bulk supplies, furniture, fixtures etc.
- Occasional lifting of over 70lbs., with assistance
- Regular crouching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling etc. to facilitate various repairs and maintenance activities.
- Regular reaching, including over-head to stock & retrieve supplies, equipment, painting, repairs etc. including climbing ladders as needed
- Be able to perform duties in an active environment with changes in climate and noise level.
