Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to join our team, responsible for both maintenance and sanitation of our production facility in Hazel Park, MI. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrate a dedication to maintaining a clean and functional environment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Inspect buildings, machinery, equipment, and systems to identify any issues and ensure functionality.
• Repair faulty equipment units and damaged structures.
• Plan, prioritize, and schedule repairs and maintenance tasks, coordinating with production activities.
• Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment to ensure everything is up to standard.
• Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of equipment according to specifications.
• Perform general maintenance tasks including landscaping, painting, and carpentry.
• Help develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
• Perform various facility janitorial or maintenance duties.
• Conduct additional housekeeping or maintenance tasks as necessary, including dusting ceiling vents, light fixtures, walls, painting, repairing, and cleaning bathrooms.
• Remove trash and move or cover furniture for deep cleaning tasks.
• Maintain a safe and clean workspace.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Effective problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
• Physical stamina and attention to detail.
• Punctuality and reliability.
• Driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Vocational/Trade training in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
• Commercial cleaning or janitorial experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 75 pounds).
• Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime as needed, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend over, and pick up items and have constant movement for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to lift, push, kneel, and pick up items, both small and large.
• Must be able to use cleaning solutions and properly and safely use brooms, unload trash cans, and other cleaning supplies and tools.

Shift: Third (3rd)

• Monday - Friday
• 11:00pm - 7:30am
