Job Description:
The Facilities Technician is responsible for performing a variety of skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled duties in support of the Facilities Department’s operations and services. The duties may involve site clean-up, construction, repair, upkeep, maintenance, installation as well as landscaping of buildings, grounds, or other property owned and/or operated by Tyler Perry Studios or its affiliated entities.
Position Type:
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Maintenance, upkeep, and cleaning of buildings, grounds, and lawns; maintaining the overall aesthetics of TPS properties.
- Assist in the construction or renovation of buildings.
- Upkeep of light fixtures.
- Making minor repairs to machinery or other equipment.
- Relocation and inventory of tools, equipment, furniture, or other goods.
- Maintaining inventory, organizing, and relocating cleaning supplies and other supplies and materials.
- Creating and keeping an accurate “Work Log” of all completed tasks, to be turned in at the end of the day.
- Ability to take notes, make reports, and communicate/collaborate with others.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to the foregoing.
- Ability to exert focus and physical strength for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to perform a combination of two or more simultaneous physical and/or mental operations.
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, duck, stoop, squat, crawl, kneel, reach, push, pull, handle equipment, and balance on uneven or narrow footing for extended periods of time.
- Ability to hearwith or without hearing aids and respond to verbal instructions and communicate effectively.
- Ability to lift, carry, load/unload, push and/or pull tools, equipment, supplies, furniture, or other items up to 75 pounds in weight.
- Ability to function within the guidelines of the policies implemented by TPS management, including as to conduct, dress code, use of property, job competence, and integrity.
- Ability to perform the physical and mental requirements of the job.
- Ability to adhere to the Company’s attendance policy.
- Employee must enter into a Vehicle agreement and possess a valid operator's license for the class of Company Vehicle being driven.

Work Environment:
The work environment varies, as the job involves work in or around all of the facilities and areas of the Tyler Perry Studios campus and related properties. Job duties usually vary day-to-day. Tasks may be performed both inside and outdoors. Employees in this role routinely use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. They also use tools and mechanical equipment, including but not limited to forklifts, all-terrain vehicles, ladders, lulls, power tools and hand tools. Employees may be required to work weekends, evenings or overnight/on-call as the need arises in all weather conditions. Protective equipment must be worn when circumstances require it; employees must wear a uniform, steel toed boots, back braces, and other safety gear as needed.
