Job Description:
- Client is seeking a skilled Industrial maintenance technician to oversee the installation and maintenance of our industrial equipment.
- As an industrial maintenance technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and mechanical equipment.
- This will include installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
- To ensure success as an industrial maintenance technician, you should have advanced mechanical knowledge of industrial machinery, excellent troubleshooting skills, and good time-management skills.
- Ultimately, a top-class industrial maintenance technician boosts production by ensuring all production equipment functions correctly and receives regular maintenance
- You will be responsible for keeping a facility operating and repairing any problems when they are discovered before they have a chance to worsen. You will usually be required to perform a wide range of repair tasks around a facility.
- Install new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
- Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment.
- Disassemble/reassemble equipment such as gearboxes, cylinders, pumps, valves, etc. and repair/replace worn or defective parts. Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulics and pneumatics
- Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems and install wiring systems for power and control. Troubleshoot, install and repair ac/dc motors, starters, relays and drives.
- Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines.
- Troubleshoot and repair all standard electrical components and detect minor equipment problems and correct them before they become major issues.
- Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools.
- Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades.
- Perform preventive maintenance per planned schedules. Clean and lubricate machinery. Inspect equipment operating conditions. Identify root causes of equipment problems.
- Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area.
- Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
- Helping develop and implement the budget for the maintenance department.
- Maintaining the inventory records for equipment and supplies
- Fixing potential safety hazards to avoid injuries
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Read and follow English language instructions
- Able to work safely in structured manufacturing environments
- Ideal candidate will be either a graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school with at least 3 years industrial experience or have a minimum of 5 yrs.
- Experience as a maintenance electrician/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility.
