What's your day like?
As a Full Time Facilities Technician at MooseHeart Child City & School, you will play a vital role in maintaining our campus's integrity and safety. Your essential functions will include the maintenance and repair of roofs, ensuring all structures are secure and functional. You will operate several pieces of equipment in the upkeep of our property. In winter, your skills will be crucial for snow removal, utilizing both plows and shovels to keep our pathways safe.
Additionally, you'll assist with the set-up and break-down of special events, collaborating with grounds, farm, and labor staff as needed. Maintaining confidentiality regarding company, staff, or youth information is paramount, and you will also perform other duties as required, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to our mission.

To excel as a Full Time Facilities Technician at MooseHeart Child City & School, candidates must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, coupled with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Demonstrated experience in general building and ground maintenance is essential. Proficiency in snow removal techniques, whether using a plow or shovel, is also required. Familiarity with heavy machinery such as backhoes, end loaders, bobcats, and trenchers will enhance your effectiveness in this role. The ability to work collaboratively within a team setting, as well as independently, is crucial.
Physical stamina is necessary to meet job demands, including climbing stairs and lifting objects exceeding 50 pounds. These skills collectively contribute to the smooth operation and safety of the MooseHeart campus.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- 1. Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- 2. Possess a valid driver's license and good driving history - no suspensions in past 3 years
- 3. General building and ground maintenance
- 4. Roof repair/replacement experience a plus
- 5. Snow removal by plow or shovel
- 6. Special event set-up and break-down
- 7. Experience with landscape/farm equipment
- 8. Ability to work as a team as well as independently
- 9. Able to climb stairs and lift in excess of 50 pounds
