Responsibilities:The primary purpose of this position is to perform all custodial functions in the process of maintaining and cleaning of the building and grounds.
- Assist with floor care.
- Routine cleaning of the kitchen and equipment.
- Pick up trash and linen.
- Cut down any cardboard.
- Pick up trash in dietary.
- Pick up RED bags (infectious waste).
- Pick up bibs for laundry.
- Must use floor machines: war-horse, buffer, wet vac, etc.
- Lock all doors at specified time.
- Complete mopping as scheduled.
- Maintain cleanliness of designated restrooms.
- Fill paper towel holders and soap dispensers.
- Dust floors and furniture.
- Remove snow and ice from exits and entrances.
- Complete oxygen and tank hook ups.
- Clean and dust all stairwells.
- Assist in minor maintenance repairs, including evaluating situation and reporting to night supervisor if maintenance needs to be called.
- Respond to all Fire Alarms.
- Complete nightly safety inspections.
- Assist in all other duties deemed necessary by supervisor.
- Attend all required in-services and follow all department and facility policies including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Maintain CONFIDENTIALITY of all pertinent resident care and employee information and follow HIPAA and HIV regulations.
Education:
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in hospital or health related facility preferred

Physical requirements:
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, reaching, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception)
- Occasional fit testing
- Frequent grasping, hearing, pushing, standing, walking
Hazards:
- Occasional bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure, chemical, electrical, mechanical.
Working conditions:
- Occasional extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, wet and/or humid, dust, fumes, mists, odors.
Travel:
- Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis
